Dr. Ryan joined our practice in 2008. Board Certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology; she graduated from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York with a BA in Biology and attended medical school at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She completed her Internship in Transitional Medicine through Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, her Ophthalmology Residency through North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, Great Neck, New York, and her Glaucoma Fellowship through Tufts/New England Eye Center/Ophthalmology Consultants of Boston, Boston, Massachusetts. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is also a member of the American Glaucoma Society and Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians.
In addition to traditional glaucoma surgery and lasers, Dr. Ryan performs minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries such as the istent and trabectome. She is skilled in laser-assisted cataract surgery and uses premium lens implants to correct astigmatism and presbyopia (the loss of ability to read with age.) She is also available for comprehensive eye exams including contact lens wearers. When Dr. Ryan is not seeing patients in our clinic she enjoys yoga, reading and spending time with her family.
